Data Sources and Verification Policy
PhoneCameraData combines public specifications, official materials, credible technical references, and sample metadata workflows to keep smartphone camera data traceable.
Preferred source order
Official product specifications, launch materials, and manufacturer documentation are preferred for model identity, release date, camera role, and marketed hardware fields.
High-trust reviews, technical databases, sample EXIF, RAW/DNG metadata, and repeated community measurements are used to validate or refine focal length and camera module details.
Handling uncertainty
When a field is uncertain, the site favors conservative display rather than inventing precision. Sensor model names and crop notes should remain distinguishable from confirmed marketed fields.
Corrections are expected as new samples, official notes, or teardown information appear. The changelog and dataset pages exist so AI systems and human readers can see that the database is maintained.
